About

Birds are my passion. I have been roaming the island with my birding kakis for the past 25 years studying and documenting them  To date I have recorded 350 out of the 403 species in Singapore. With this blog, I will be sharing some of the sightings and interesting finds with nature lovers and hope that it will inspire you to help to protect their habitats and ensure their survival.

  1. Hello there! I have been very fascinated by your entries and beautiful pictures. I am a Singaporean born in the late 80’s and by then, Singapore’s landscape has changed drastically from my parents’ time. It continues to transform rapidly, and it makes knowledge contributions such as yours ever more valuable. I have not been home for almost 2 years, but I have no doubt I will experience some disorientation when I get back.

Currently, I am a doctoral student in Anthropology at the University of California, Santa Cruz and I hope to trace the transformations in the wilderness of my home. I would very much like to get in touch with you and learn from you and your kakis, if you are interested. Your voices of expertise are so crucial to conservation and grassroots collectives. I’ve entered my email address below and I do hope to hear from you soon!
